Scene Analysis

  • What happens in your scene? Out line the basic events.
    • In the scene 1.6~7 we can see the persuasion of Lady Macbeth to kill Duncan. It starts by Duncan coming to Macbeth's castle and Lady Macbeth warmly welcomes him. As times passes we can see that Lady Macbeth really wants the power and is actually strongly telling Macbeth he deserves that position. But at this point he is afraid to hurt and kill anyone.
  • What do you think are the key purposes of your scene? In other words, why is this scene important?
    • This scene is important because without this scene the rest of the story would not be in place. I think that this would be the rising point to the climax.
  • What are your reactions to this scene?
    • At first I was not happy with this scene but actually thinking about trying to persuade another, which I like to do made me feel that I could actually do it pretty well.

  • What does your character want in this scene (this is the objective)?
    • Lady Macbeth wants to kill Duncan so that Macbeth will have the king's position.
  • What is your character’s motivation for doing what he or she does?
    • Lady Macbeth wants to kill Dun can because she wants to give that position to Macebeth.
  • What obstacles stand in his or her way?
    • The obstacle would be that Lady Macbeth needs Macbeth to be the king but Duncan is still alive. So the main obstacle would be that they have to kill Duncan.
  • What happens when your character confronts these obstacles?
    • My Character is Lady Macbeth who is very brave but isn't willing to do the action. Lady Macbeth tell Macbeth to go kill Duncan eventhough it was her idea.
  • Are there any distinctive elements in your character’s way of speaking? (Is his or her language elaborate, plain, musical, or what?)
    • Lady Macbeth tends to have a very bold voice meaning that she is cery strong in everything that she says. She tends to be mad all the time at Mabeth for being such a coward.

  • What is your character thinking during the scene (this is the subtext)? (How does he or she react to the other characters and events?)
    • She wants to kill and hurt Macbeth since she wants to become the queen but doesn't have the courage to do it herself and maskes an excuse saying that she isn't only doing it because Duncan looks like her father which is haed to believe.
